I’m Michael Irwin, a professional, award-winning photographer with over 6 years behind the lens. My expertise lies in capturing awe inspiring destinations and native wildlife all across the country. I’ve captured images of the beautiful rolling hills of Kansas, the stunning Rocky Mountains in Colorado, the foggy trails of the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, the serene beaches and moss covered oak trees of South Carolina, and beyond.
My Story
A deep passion for the outdoors ignited my interest in photography. Growing up in Mississippi, my best memories were of hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods with my dad, honing my outdoor skills. When my dad joined the military, our nomadic lifestyle took us from state to state every few years, eventually landing us in Kansas. It was there that I purchased my first camera, and from that moment on, I was hooked! Since then I have explored many forms of photography gaining experience with landscapes, wildlife, portraits, weddings, real-estate, pets, and equestrian photography. I am always working to expand my portfolio and improve my craft
ACHIEVEMENTS
My photography has received multiple recognitions including top 5 selection and editor’s choice in the 2020 Samsung/National Geographic Photo Contest, and was featured on the National Geographic Your Shot Instagram page. My work has also been featured in outdoor publications such as the Kansas Department of Parks and Wildlife magazine, Friends of the Flint Hills calendar, and Rural Kansas Photograph calendar
